CUSTOM WORK

Commission verb - a formal request to someone to design or make a piece of work.

You have a clear idea of what you want, but you can't find it in the normal locations?

You have an empty space that needs to be filled, but you're unsure what to do and need creative inspiration?

You can't stand to part with a treasured family heirloom, yet it doesn't match your décor?

Don't settle for a piece of high street furniture that that isn't perfect for you! When you commission a piece of furniture, you have complete control on every detail, including the size, style, colour, and hardware.

Here's how the commission process works:

1. Get in contact
Contact me using my contact form or by sending an email. Let me know what you're looking for, or if you have a specific piece of furniture in mind. This Instagram highlight has the majority of my current inventory. At this stage it's helpful to know if you have any size or style preferences. If you're unsure on what you want then I'm happy to discuss ideas from photos of your existing decor or interior mood boards.

2. Book
I will send a final quote once we have discussed your commission in greater depth and the design has been finalised. This price is fixed* and there will be no hidden extra costs. If you agree to proceed, a £99 non-refundable booking deposit (deductible from the total cost) will be required to reserve your commission slot**

3. Work begins!
Prior to beginning construction on your custom piece of furniture, you will receive an invoice for 50% of the total price (to cover the cost of materials). Once payment is received I will work my Kookiwood magic! Keep an eye on my Instagram Story for a sneak preview of progress updates.

4. Masterpiece reveal
As soon as your piece is finished, you will receive an email containing photos and the final invoice. Once the balance has been settled, I will schedule a delivery date with the courier. Your piece of furniture will be well packaged and comes with care instructions on how to look after your new piece of furniture.

* Once the design has been finalised and the deposit paid, if you wish to change anything to the agreed design this may incur additional costs and increase the lead time.
** I provide a limited number of monthly commissions to ensure that yours and other clients pieces are completed on time. If you wish to delay your commission for whatever reason, you must reserve a new commission slot (this is not deductible against the total cost).

Commissions are non refundable. More info can be found on my refund policy here.
